It has an area of 603,628 km², making it the largest country entirely within Europe.
Business The GDP (PPP) of Ukraine ranks 38th in the world in 2010 and is estimated at 305.2 billion US dollars. According to the CIA, per capita GDP was US$6,700 (in purchasing power parity terms) in 2010, ranking 107th in the world. Nominal GDP (in US dollars, calculated at market exchange rates) was US$136 billion, the highest in the world 53rd place. In July 2008, the average nominal salary in Ukraine reached 1,930 hryvnia per month. Although salary growth in 2008 was lower than in neighboring Central European countries, it was 36.8 percent. According to the UNDP, in 2003, 4.9% of Ukraine's population lived below US$2 a day and 19.5% of the population lived below the national poverty line in the same year. According to the World Bank, in 2010 only 0.1% of the population lived on less than US$2 a day.
Ukraine produces almost all types of transport vehicles and spacecraft. Antonov planes and KrAZ trucks are exported to many countries. The bulk of Ukrainian exports are marketed to the European Union and CIS. Since independence, Ukraine has maintained its own space agency, the National Space Agency of Ukraine (NSAU). Ukraine actively participated in scientific space exploration and remote sensing missions. Between 1991 and 2007, Ukraine launched six homemade satellites and 101 launch vehicles, and continues to develop spacecraft.
